We also had a small ‘hall’ area leading off the bedroom to the toilet and shower that had shelving for personal items and a hanging space. I could not help but observe his stealth and professionalism. The staff were all helpful and professional. I’m not sure if we just got lucky, but we found the room/en-suite to be a comfortable size with clean bedding bedding and comfy, bedbug free mattresses. It did have a large cup of coffee and orange juice which was enough to fill me up for the start of each busy day. There is a lift which worked well and was clean (an important feature in any hotel in my opinion). There are hotels at the same price... that are MUCH nicer.

A few things we noticed about the hotel. Also, bring a hairdryer as there isn’t one provided. The environment around the hotel might not cater to everyone's taste, as it is always lively with people, thus noisy and a little bit chaotic especially during the strike. It was however small and allowed either one person each time to use it or one person with luggage. Good beds. If you are the sort that prefers more grander surroundings and has a budget that can run to it, I would suggest a hotel such as the previously mentioned ‘Marriot’ but expect to pay 8 to 10 times as much as the hotel ‘Angleterre’ does for an equally good night’s rest. Orsay Museum is minutes away. If your trip is that long weekend that you have planned be aware that all museums in Paris are free on the first Sunday of each month!

The bathroom area was clean and tidy and well up to the task. The room was comfortable and the bathroom very large by European standards. Friendly personnel. Don’t expect too much help from the locals as it is regarded as the norm in Paris, I am afraid to say. The best highlight is how close the metro station was - pretty much outside the hotel which was great for getting to central Paris.
