I could vaguely remember this film from my youth, so I thought why not at the price.

Thank you. Its not even very interesting. In case you're wondering, when I ordered this it did NOT come with the cool looking red case as shown in the illustration. Find out where Red Dawn (1984) is streaming, if Red Dawn (1984) is on Netflix, and get news and updates, on Decider. Its made its way into pop culture, but I never watched it because it didn't sound interesting to me at all. I must say I really preferred this version rather than the Chris Hemsworth version. teen cult classic. & I really loved seeing Patrick Swayze & Jennifer Grey together in another film! Red Dawn knows what it wants to say; it just has a hard time saying it, and too often it goes for the easy score instead of really delving into the possibilities of the scenario. Our mascot was the Rams so it wouldn't have been near as cool as shouting "Wolverines!".

Anyway - very good movie and I was thrilled to watch it again after all of these years. The US had the ability to detect an attack of this nature even at the time this film was made. It was everything I remember, cheesy acting, Soviet paranoia,American Bravery winning out.
